Asbestos (OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 & EPA NESHAP): Materials in pre-1980 homes (joint compound, acoustic popcorn ceilings, VCT tiles, pipe insulation) are Presumed Asbestos-Containing Materials. Must be tested prior to demolition; if >1% asbestos, abatement must be executed by licensed asbestos abatement specialists under negative pressure.
